Rava ladoo / Sooji ladoo / Semolina ladoo

Rava ladoo is an easy sweet to prepare and also a delicious one in taste. Lots of people do not like rava in the form of upma and kitchadi, but this is the form of rava which everyone will love to eat. It is my Grandmother’s The Best recipe which is my Father’s favorite sweet from hers.

Here we do her own easy and delicious recipe.

Recipe from : My Grandmother (written by Author)

Serves : 25 Balls (upto the size you round)

Preparation time : 5 mins

Cooking time : 10 mins

Total time : 15 mins ( excluding ladoo rounding time)

Ingredients :

* Rava / Sooji – 2 cups

* Sugar – 1 1/2cups (as per your sweet level it may be 1/4 cup less or high)

* Boiled and cooled Milk – 1/4 cup (according to rava it varies, sometimes milk remains or needs more)

* Ghee ( clarified butter) – 8 tblspn

* Cardamom – 12-15 nos

* Cashews – 1/4 cup (quantity is purely your choice)

* Golden raisins / Kishmish – 1/4 cup ( again your wish)

Preparation Instructions :

1. Heat a heavy bottom pan or kadai and add 1 tblspn of ghee and rava and let it roast until the aroma comes ,main thing is keep stirring it.

2. Let it cool and grind it to before powder and after coarse consistency.

3. Keep it in a bowl.

4. Add sugar and Cardamom in a mixer jar and make it a powder and add it to the grinded rava and mix it well together.

5. Add the milk time by time and mix them well with a spatula or by using hand. Make sure that the mixture will not be like flowy consistency.

6. Add ghee and mix well.

7. Meanwhile Heat ghee in a small pan and roast the cashew golden brown and golden raisins until it buldges and add it to the rava mixture.

8. Mix all of them well and make balls by using hands and recipe is ready to serve.

Step In Pictures :

13. Recipe is ready to serve.


Note for the dish :

1. You can use powdered sugar instead of grinding it.

2. You can use Cardamom powder too.

3. If the milk is little extra in the mixture, let it rest for a while before making balls. Because the rava will intake the milk and the mixture attains the cosistency.

4. If you feel sticky while rounding the ladoo, you can apply some ghee in your palm hand.
