Banana Bread / Whole wheat Banana bread/ Banana Loaf cake

Here we are going to know the Banana bread bread with whole wheat flour and brown sugar which is easy to prepare and delicious to eat as combination with Tea, Coffee and also served as a simple breakfast with fruits. Banana is a easy fruit, like most people’s favorite, kids favorite and blend with all types of fruits in milkshake, smoothie and mix well with all types of flour like All purpose flour, Wheat flour, Almond flour.

Serves : 10- 12 counts ( as per the thickness you cut)

Ingredients :

Dry Ingredients :


* Wheat flour – 1 1/4 cups

* Sugar – 3/4 cup (can increase few teaspoon sugar if you wish)

* Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tblspn ( as per your wish for cinnamon flavor)

* Walnuts – 1/2 cup (as per your wish )

* Pistachios – 1/4 cup ( as per your wish ) / Optional

* Baking powder – 1 tblspn

* Baking soda – 1/2 tblspn

* Salt – 1/4 tsp

Wet Ingredients :

* Ripen Banana – 3 large nos

*  Egg – 2 numbers

* Unsalted Butter / Oil -1/2 cup (150 g)

* Vanilla extract – 1 tblspn (optional)

Preparation Instructions:

1. First Pre-heat the Oven for 350 degree Fahrenheit  / 180 degree Celsius.

2.  In a mixing bowl, sieve the wheat flour.

3. Then add the other ingredients in the dry ingredients that mentioned above.

4. Add the chopped nuts , mix well and keep it aside.

5. Mash the skin removed banana by using fork and few chunks would be fine.

6. Add melted and cooled butter.

7. Whisk the egg in a bowl and add it to the banana mix.

8. Add vanilla extract and whisk all well together.

9. Add the wet ingredients mix to the dry one and mix it well with a spatula.

10. Take a loaf pan / bread pan, grease it with butter or place a parchment paper / butter sheet and keep it ready.

11. Pour the batter in the loaf pan / bread pan and spread it evenly and tap it few times to let the air bubbles out, but do not tap more, it will take away all air bubbles and let the bread hard in texture.

12. Bake it in the pre-heated oven for 60 – 65 minutes in the same temperature.

13. Check it by inserting toothpick or fork after 55 minutes, just to confirm because the flours and oven may differ in Baking.

14. Let it cool, just make space in the sides of the bread and take it out, cut and serve into pieces. You can refrigerate the bread upto one week in an air tight container.

15. Bread / Loaf cake is ready to serve.



Steps In Pictures :

spread it evenly and tap it few times.

in the same temperature.

14. Check it by inserting toothpick or fork after 55 minutes,

just to confirm because the flours and

oven may differ in Baking.

15. Let it cool, just make space in the sides of

the bread and take it out.

16. Cut and serve into pieces.

17. Recipe is ready to serve.

Note for the dish :

1. Sieve the flour to avoid the lumps.

2. Cinnamon powder which we are adding gives you a nice flavor, color and enhance the banana flavor.

3. Nuts are totally your choice, you can use pecans, almonds, Hazel nuts instead of walnut.

4. You can use Choco chips instead of nuts.

5. Slit on the top of the bread after done with baking is normal and no need to worry about it.

6. After refrigerating, microwave the bread for 10-15 seconds before serving.

7. You can use All purpose flour and white sugar if you wish.
