Chicken Drumstick / Pan grilled Chicken

Chicken drumstick is a popular food nowadays and most people’s favorite food as well. And chicken is a protein rich food too. Here we are going to try a new, simple and healthy grill recipe. You do not need grill or oven for this recipe, only thing is a cast iron or a heavy bottom pan.

Serves : 6 pieces

Preparation Time : 10 mins

Marination time : Minimum 1 hour

Cooking Time : 15-20 mins

Total time needed : 25 mins ( without marination time)

Ingredients :

* Chicken leg piece – 6 numbers

* Hung curd – 3 tblspn ( you can filter the normal curd )

* Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp ( 1/4 to wash the chicken )

* Coriander powder – 1 tblspn

* Cumin powder – 1/4 tblspn

* Garam masala powder – 1/4 tblspn

Instead I used 2 tblspn of homemade curry powder.

* Kashmiri chilli powder – 1/2 tsp (as per your spice level)

* Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp ( as per your spice level)

* Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tblspn

* Kashoori methi – 1 tblspn

* Salt as needed

* Butter 2 tblspn to fry

Preparation Instructions :

1. Wash the chicken with turmeric powder and salt and keep it dry ready.

2. Filter the curd for few minutes to get the Hung Curd.

3. In a bowl add hung curd, turmeric powder, coriander powder , cumin powder, pepper powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, hand crushed kashoori methi, ginger garlic paste and mix well.

4. Make slits in the chicken piece to masala goes in and apply the mixed masala curd paste all over the chicken and let it marinate for minimum 1 hour in refrigerator or freezer.

5. After marination, heat a cast iron pan or heavy bottom pan and apply butter on it.

6. Place the marinated chicken on the pan and close the lid for 10 minutes in medium flame and let it cook.

7. After 10 minutes, flip around the chicken and close the lid by adding some more butter and let it cook in the medium low flame for 10 minutes.

8. Check between every 5 minutes to make sure the chicken is not burnt.

9. Recipe is ready to serve with Mayonnaise, Ranch and also with Honey.

11. Add ginger garlic paste.

12. Mix all well together like a paste.

13. Apply the mixed masala curd paste all

over the chicken.

14. Let it marinate for minimum 1 hour

in refrigerator or freezer.

15. Heat a cast iron pan or heavy bottom

pan and apply butter on it.

16. Place the marinated chicken on the pan.

17. close the lid for 10 minutes in medium

flame and let it cook.

18. Flip around the chicken and close the lid

by adding some more butter and let it

cook in the medium low flame for 10 minutes.

19. Recipe is ready to serve .

Note for the dish :

1. Slit the chicken or fork it deeply to infuse the masala.

2. You can add lemon juice to the marination too.

3. We can marinate overnight, it will increase the taste.

4. Do not over cook the chicken, it will loss it’s juiciness.
